The MLB postseason started on Tuesday night with the Toronto Blue Jays hosting the Baltimore Orioles. Game 1 of the postseason didn't disappoint the fans, as it took extra innings for the Blue Jays to elminate the Orioles. Buck Showalter is taking some heat today by not replacing Ubaldo Jimenez with Zach Britton. After a Devon Travis single, Josh Donaldson singled. On the play, Nolan Reimold bobbled the ball which allowed Travis to advance to thrid. Edwin Encarnacion then ended the game with a three-run bomb to the upper deck in left field.The Blue Jays will now face the Texas Rangers.
Tonight could be one of the best pitiching match-ups of the post season as the San Francisco Giants Madison Bumgarner faces New York Mets Noah Syndergaard, in the NL wild-card game. It is 2016, which is an even year, so don't count the Giants out of the World Series. However, they struggled in the second half of the season. The Mets could have one of the deepest starting rotation, but have struggled offensively at times.
The Red Sox face the Cleveland Indians in hte other AL playoff series. The winner of the Giants and Mets game will face the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs are the favorite to make the World Series after accumulating over 100 wins in the regular season. However, it is playoff time and the prior 162 games don't mean anything.  The Los Angeles Dodgers and Washington Nationals quietly put together strong seasons and will compete for a spot in the NLDS.
