Ode to December
Welcome, O December, in your splendid array,
A twilight of the year, when the nights steal the day.
Your arrival marks the end, yet the birth of anew,
A time of reflection, of promise coming true.
Your frost paints landscapes in silvery delight,
Bathing the world in a soft, gentle light.
The trees in their skeletal beauty stand tall,
Silhouettes dancing at winter's grand ball.
You bring with you magic, a unique kind of charm,
As the world bundles up, seeking comfort and warm.
The chimneys are smoking, the hearths aglow,
While outside paints a canvas of snow.
Under your watch, the bells start to ring,
Echoes of joy through the cold air they bring.
Windows light up, decked in festive array,
A beacon of hope, holding darkness at bay.
In your reign, we celebrate, we share and we give,
Learning once more what it means to truly live.
With each snowflake that falls, each star in the night,
You remind us of peace, of love, and of light.
So welcome, December, in your icy reign,
With your frosty mornings and gentle snow rain.
For the magic you bring, for the hope you inspire,
We celebrate you, as the old year retires.
May this December bring magic and joy to us all,
Uniting us together, as the snowflakes fall.
For in this final chapter, as the old year departs,
We find renewed hope, and love in our hearts.
