Confession of FaithChapter 11: Of Justification

God doth continue to forgive the sins of those that are justified;1 and, although they can never fall from the state of justification,2 yet they may, by their sins, fall under God's fatherly displeasure, and not have the light of his countenance restored unto them, until they humble themselves, confess their sins, beg pardon, and renew their faith and repentance.3

   and forgive us our debts,

   But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

   If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

3. Psalm 89:31-33

   if they violate my statutes
   and do not keep my commandments,
   then I will punish their transgression with the rod
   and their iniquity with stripes,
   but I will not remove from him my steadfast love
   or be false to my faithfulness.

   Psalm 51:7-12

   Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
   wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
   Let me hear joy and gladness;
   let the bones that you have broken rejoice.
