Introduction & Roll Call: TMO, Vladz, Derek, Jason
Main Topics/Group Discussion:
Microsoft’s pre-order problem
Xbox One X is releasing Nov 7th
Every publisher is out there with betas, commercials, putting codes on energy drinks to hype their game to get the most out of their release. Big titles like Madden 18 (Aug 22) FIFA (Aug 28) Destiny 2 (Sept 6) Forza Motorsport 7 (Oct 3) Wolfenstein 2 & Assassin's Creed Origins (Oct 27) Call of Duty WWII (Nov 3) all come out before.
True you can play them on your old Xbox One, but don’t you want to boot them up for the first time on the Monster? Crackdown 3 is the only thing lining up with the release date. I also think that a bunch of people are going to be unloading their current Xbox One machines to try and bank some store credit towards the ‘Monster’ - so will they be buying games on weeks up to launch that they don’t have a console yet to play them on? Or just wait and pick them up cheaper later. Which could make Black Friday be even BIGGER with gamers this year. But I heard they might have it available for pre-order after GamesCon when they might have worked out trade-in offers on your old Xbox One with retailers by then.
With many places offering discounts on physical games, which place do you usually use to pick up your digital games? Or do you pick-up the physical copy to save money?
Disney will pull of its movies off Netflix creating their own streaming service in 2019
The Xbox with Spotify is headed to Xbox One Adding yet another music player to the Xbox (Groove Music, Pandora, Soundcloud, Cast (where you used to be able to hear this podcast until a recent update jacked it up) etc.) Background audio apps
Can we talk graphics? 'NBA 2K18's' graphics are so good that '2K17' looks like trash
And while we are talking graphics….game director Josef Fares said while working on ‘A Way Out’ “You want the honest truth? This machine is not so strong as you think. This is like a five-year-old PC. If consoles were as powerful as PCs are today, you would see all different games. Most of the work developers put out there is to make them work on consoles.” We all thought this game looked pretty awesome at E3 2017, but we’ll see what they deliver (release early 2018) some may feel as though the lack of online matchmaking is certainly a negative being that you HAVE to play Co-Op to play the game.
We here at OFR would like to suggest a Twitter account to follow: @loneblockbuster And they are having a little fun being who they are “This account was created to get face-to-face with them and build a personal relationship for a better Blockbuster future. And to contact people who owe us late fees.”
