As you may know, the incredible human being and rapper Nipsey Hussle (Ermias Asghedom) was gunned down yesterday afternoon (3/31/19) in front of his clothing store on West Slauson Ave. in South Central, LA. The impact through his activism, his determination to heal the brokenness of his community and his penchant for greatness left an indelible mark on me. As a fellow African, this Eritrean man represented the struggle of what it meant to be both an African and a Black American in America. As the real O.G. that he is, I say this prayer as a healing balm to soothe the pain of this great loss. Rest in Heaven Young King and may your legacy live on. The Marathon Continues.
