Not many Ohioans have heard of the Ohio Penitentiary, a storied prison once located in downtown Columbus. Through is nearly 150 years in operation, its riots, infectious epidemics and a catastrophic fire took the lives of countless prisoners. That might account for the ghostly screams often heard throughout the neighborhood, which is now called the Arena District.Come hear tales from local tour guides who are so familiar with the folklore, they’ve given ghost tours of the area.
