Ohio Weather: 02-22-2026

Listen Later

Good morning, folks! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Ohio Weather Podcast. It's Sunday, February 22nd, and winter just dropped a little calling card overnight. A dusting of snow. Barely a tenth of an inch. But don't let that fool you.
Northeast Ohio, you're about to get buried. Lake effect bands crank up this afternoon. You're looking at 1 to 3 inches today, then another 2 to 4 tonight. Winds shift northwest around 2 P.M., gusting to 16 miles an hour. Highs hit 36 degrees around 2 P.M., then slide to 27 overnight. Wind chill? Feels like 17 degrees. Winter Weather Advisories are up. This one means business.
Now drive south on 71 toward Columbus. Snow showers fire up after 8 A.M. And peak around 1 P.M. You'll see 1 to 2 inches. Highs reach 36 degrees around 3 P.M. But those northwest gusts hit 30 miles an hour, and by 4 A.M. Monday you're down to 26 degrees. Feels like 14. Watch for sudden whiteouts this afternoon.
Keep rolling to Cincinnati and you're the lucky ones. A slight chance of snow showers after 9 A.M., but barely a dusting. Same 35 degree high. Same gusty winds. But here's your plot twist. By Wednesday? You're hitting 53 degrees. That's a 28 degree jump in 48 hours. Your winter coat won't know what happened.
The week ahead is wild. Monday and Tuesday stay cold. Lows in the teens up north, twenties elsewhere. Then Wednesday flips the switch. Southwest Ohio soars to 53 degrees while Cleveland crawls to 40. Thursday brings rain and a slushy mix. But Friday into Saturday? Sunny skies and 46 to 61 degrees statewide. Cincinnati, you're flirting with 60. Even Cleveland hits 49. That's a spring preview worth waiting for.
One quick thing. If you're enjoying these daily updates, share us with a neighbor. Word of mouth keeps this thing going.
That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!
