The Edmonton Oilers just don’t do boring hockey games, and Game 1 against the Vegas Golden Knights was no exception. Despite going down 2-0 less than ten minutes into the game, the Oilers rallied with a dominant performance the rest of the way, storming back in the third period with three unanswered goals to secure a thrilling 4-2 win and steal home ice advantage.

Corey Perry sparked the comeback, while Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman followed with massive goals—Hyman’s standing as the game winner. Connor Brown sealed the deal with a clutch insurance marker in the final frame. Calvin Pickard was once again rock solid between the pipes, stopping 15 of 17 shots and possibly taking full control of the starter’s crease in Edmonton moving forward.
