In this powerful passage, we're reminded of a vital truth: we did not receive the Holy Spirit by following the law of Moses, but by believing the message of Christ. Hallelujah! It's so easy to fall into the trap of thinking that we can perfect ourselves through our own efforts. But how foolish is that? After beginning our new lives in the Spirit, why do we try to go back to relying on our human strength?
Think about it—God doesn’t give us the Holy Spirit or perform miracles among us because of our obedience to the law. No, it’s because we believe in the message of Christ. Just as Abraham believed God and was counted as
righteous, so are we who put our faith in Him. The real children of Abraham are those who live by faith, not by law.
Verse 11 makes it clear: no one can be made right with God by keeping the law. The Scriptures tell us that it’s through faith that a righteous person has
life. Amen to that!
This week, this scripture has been on my heart, and I just can’t shake it. It’s such a powerful reminder that our inheritance isn’t something we earn—it’s a gift of God’s grace. Hallelujah, glory to God! I’m so grateful that
it doesn’t depend on me because if it did, I’d be in a world of trouble. Thank God for His mercy and grace!
