In the Book, Okay For Now by Gary Schmidt, we see the birds in Audubon’s paintings being used to represent events in the chapter. However, not all of the birds represent Doug’s circumstances directly, but instead we seem them being used to amplify the unusual development occurring throughout the chapter.
