In today's episode of Think Healthy, Doctor Puja talks about why thinning hair is not an expecation of aging!
Show Transcript:
Hi Doctor Puja here.
Let's continue to Think Healthy!
Today, we want to
talk about thinning hair.
Here's a myth we want to put to rest
right away.
When you touch your head
& you notice that your hair is thinning,
we don't want to say to ourselves: Hey,
I think my hair is thinning
because I'm getting older!
Among one of the lesser known reasons
for thinning hair, a vitamin
or micronutrient deficiency
such as Zinc or Iron.
Our hair goes through
normal growth and shedding cycles.
We all know this!
And, as we age,
we'll see some changes in our hair.
But, thinning of one's hair
is not always a normal part of aging.
So the takeaway message here
is: if you find yourself
with thinning hair,
you may consider finding out
if you have a micronutrient deficiency!
Call your doctor
or your health care team.
Until next time.
