In my senior year of high school I played Ebenezer Scrooge in the musical adaption of a Christmas Carol. There was something so liberating about playing an elderly male curmudgeonly miser, and it was the antithesis of what my life was like as a 17 year old girl. I love when the holidays roll around and I get to watch the Hollywood version of this musical on tv, because it takes me back to the last year of high school when I was just on the cusp of imaging all of my wildest dreams.
