King David is known for many things, some of which are very grievous sins. And yet he is called a “man after God’s heart.” As a king, David displays the character of God in the forgiveness he extended to others when they sinned against him, while hating his own sin with a passion. God hates sin, but he delights in mercy. He is quick to forgive and restore.
