You ever have a week where the smallest thing feels like a full-contact sport? We’re back to an old school, just-me rant, starting at home where my wife is recovering from surgery and the real challenge is convincing a “go-go-go” person to actually rest. Recovery isn’t just about healing, it’s about patience, boundaries, and trying not to lose your mind when the whole house is out of rhythm.
Then my 17-year-old walks in and asks for “belly medicine.” Not acid reflux medicine. Not Prilosec. “Belly medicine.” What follows is a 7 a.m. spiral: confusion, a punch pack, a waking-the-recovering-parent mistake, and the kind of teen logic that makes you laugh right after it makes you angry. It’s a funny story, but it also turns into a real talk about how spoon-feeding can crush basic problem-solving, and why “figure it out” is sometimes the most loving thing we can say.
We also hit some life updates on the comedy side: signing a booking agent and putting early plans together for a live show back home in West Virginia with a rough, anything-can-happen vibe. From there, we shift into sports, including a somber note on the reported passing of NASCAR’s Kyle Busch, plus my take on the Cleveland Cavaliers getting swept by the New York Knicks and what has to change if Cleveland wants to take the next step.
If you like honest parenting stories, stand-up comedy hustle, and unfiltered sports opinions, hit play. Subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find the show.
