Olde Stories, New Voices

Olde Stories, New Voices is a new podcast series from South Carolina's Olde English District (OED) exploring the region's role in the American Revolution. Each episode walks a different chapter of the district's new Backcountry Revolution Trail, a sestercentennial experience connecting battlefields, museums, and landmarks across seven counties in north central South Carolina. 

The series launches at the Revolutionary War Visitors Center in Camden with Molly Fortune, CEO of the South Carolina American Revolution Sestercentennial Commission (SC250). Micah Decker, Executive Director of the OED, sits down with Molly to discuss the foundation SC250 has laid and what's ahead.

Micah and Molly dive into SC250's mission chartered by the SC General Assembly; what the "Eye of the Storm" (the 3 years between 2026 and 2030) means for the commission and SC revolutionary history; and how the Backcountry Revolution Trail fits into the larger story of why South Carolina is known as the place where the American Revolution was won.

Molly Fortune - Chief Executive Officer, South Carolina 250

Molly Fortune is CEO of the South Carolina American Revolution Sestercentennial Commission (SC250), the state's official organization leading the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution. Since joining SC250 in 2022, she has overseen the establishment of county-level committees across all 46 counties, implemented a multi-year strategic framework, and stewarded more than $7 million in grants supporting education, preservation, tourism, and community-driven programming.
