Did you know that older leaders are actually more productive than younger leaders? That's right, according to a new report from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), older leaders can produce superior objective performance (i.e., number of sales) among their subordinates compared to younger leaders.
This is surprising to many people because we often have the misconception that older people are less productive or less capable as they age. But this report shows that this is not the case. In fact, older leaders have a number of advantages over younger leaders, including:
More experience and knowledge: Older leaders have had more time to develop their skills and knowledge, which gives them a significant advantage over younger leaders.
Better decision-making skills: Older leaders are also better at making sound decisions because they have had more experience dealing with complex challenges.
Stronger relationships: Older leaders often have stronger relationships with their employees and colleagues, increasing productivity and morale.
So what does this mean for you? If you're an older person, you don't have to retire if you don't want to! You can start a new business at any age or pursue any other goal you've always dreamed of.
And if you're a younger person, you can learn a lot from older leaders. Be open to their guidance and mentorship, and you'll be well on your way to success.
In this episode, we'll look at what it means for older leaders and employees alike. We'll also share some personal stories about how we've benefited from working with older leaders and mentors.
So stay tuned for an informative and inspiring episode about the power of older leadership!
