Half way through- like it so far
Been reading lots of different stuff lately, and was here hunting for a new Author in a genre I haven't worn out. Once you learn a writers "Recipe" as I call it, I get bored. So with that in mind, I was quite pleased to find OldSoul by this writer Mr. Haring, that I had not previously read.
Like my above title says, halfway through still enjoying it. Would have preferred an Audible.com version. Its a new writer with his own recipe, and with fiction, Different is great.
Good idea, but ...
The idea that not only do you have past lives but all your past souls live inside you, and can help you do superhuman things -- yeah, that's intriguing, and with better dialogue and storytelling this book could be exceptionally intriguing. But it lacks any finesse or polish. I skipped over whole chunks just to get to the end and find out what happened. At least I did care about what happened, so that's saying something.
Unique plot, fast paced, page turner
I didn't want to put it down. Great read. Genuinely unique idea- a one-off - I had a hard time slotting this into other sci-fi/psych fare. I won't reveal the plot as the discovery was one of the things that made this book fun, although now I am hoping for another story. I hope this is the beginning of a series. Nice to read a book I can recommend to my YA boys without reservation.
I love Oldsoul
This book is a refreshing and rare combination of riveting plot and intense action with sections of deep calm and peace. It is subtly yet at times strongly magical. I found the storyline and characters to be interesting and deep. I look forward to more writings by this author.
reality vs fantasy
A mixture of everyday pain, joys, love and hate. With old world fantasy of immortality and showing how even that can be taken away..,
