Oliver & Company (1988)

Listen Later

We know perfect isn’t easy, but that’s hardly an excuse. The music still slaps - despite the unused talents of Sheryl Lee Ralph - but otherwise we’re not entirely sure about the longstanding value of this Dickensian mish mosh. Sure, it’s the only role in which Billy Joel doesn’t play himself... but is that it? Make no bones about it, we were doggone frustrated this week. But hey - why should we ca-a-re?
