Introductions features the second of two programs with chamber ensembles from the Music Institute of Chicago Academy. Today, two prize-winning string quartets perform Haydn, Hindemith, Puccini, Ravel, and Bartók.
Members of today’s groups have appeared previously on WFMT:
– The complete Omaggio String Quartet performed on our 70th Anniversary Day of Celebration in December 2021 and also appeared in May 2021.
– Abigail Park also appeared as part of Trio Reine in July 2020.
– Tara Hagle also gave a live violin recital in June 2022.
– Elinor Detmer also gave a live viola recital in May 2022 and appeared with the Aurora Piano Quartet in June 2020.
– Jan Vargas Nedvetsky also gave a cello recital in January 2021 and appeared with Trio Primavera in August 2020.
– Kelly Kim appeared with Quartet Celeste in August 2021 and with the Infini Quartet in August 2020.
– Katya Moeller performed in the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts in June 2022; gave a live violin recital on Introductions in March 2022; and appeared with the Dasani String Quartet in May 2020.
– Sidney Lee gave a live viola recital in April 2022; and appeared with the Salice Piano Quartet in August 2021 and with the Aurora Piano Quartet in June 2020.
