Good morning, weather watchers! This is your friendly neighborhood meteorologist coming to you with the latest forecast for the Carter Lake area in Iowa.
Bundle up, folks, because winter is showing its chilly face! Tonight we're looking at a crisp clear night with temperatures diving down to a bone-chilling 8 degrees. Those west northwest winds will be dancing around at 6 to 8 miles per hour, so grab that extra layer.
Moving into Monday, we've got a sunny day ahead with temperatures struggling to reach a high of 27 degrees. Expect a west wind with gusts up to 16 miles per hour - perfect day for a warm coat and some hot cocoa.
Monday night gets interesting with a slight 20 percent chance of snow after 9 pm. Temperatures will drop to around 7 degrees, and those winds will be playing musical chairs, starting calm and then switching to a north breeze.
Tuesday brings more sunshine with a high of 22 degrees, while Wednesday warms things up to a balmy 34 degrees. By Thursday, we're looking at a pleasant spike to 46 degrees - might feel like a heatwave after these cold days!
The weekend looks brisk, with Saturday's high barely reaching 23 degrees and Sunday topping out at a chilly 15 degrees. Expect those north winds to keep things interesting, with gusts potentially reaching 21 miles per hour.
