Good morning, weather watchers! I'm your meteorologist bringing you the chilly scoop for the Carter Lake area in Iowa.

Tonight, we've got a nippy situation with a slight 20 percent chance of snow before 4 in the morning. Expect mostly cloudy skies and temperatures dipping down to a brisk 7 degrees Fahrenheit. The north winds will be howling between 10 to 16 miles per hour, with gusts potentially reaching 23 miles per hour - so bundle up, folks!

Moving into Tuesday, we'll see a sunny reprieve with temperatures climbing to a crisp 18 degrees Fahrenheit. Those north winds will gradually calm down as the day progresses.

By Wednesday, we're looking at a mostly sunny day with temperatures warming up to a more pleasant 36 degrees Fahrenheit. Southwest winds will be gentle, around 5 to 8 miles per hour.

As we roll into Thursday and Friday, expect sunny skies with temperatures rising to a downright balmy 45 and 46 degrees Fahrenheit respectively. But don't get too comfortable - Saturday will snap back to reality with partly sunny conditions and a high of just 25 degrees Fahrenheit.

Weekend warriors, brace yourselves! Saturday night will drop to a bone-chilling 3 degrees Fahrenheit, and Sunday won't be much better with a high of only 12 degrees Fahrenheit.

Martin Luther King Day looks to be mostly sunny with temperatures hovering around 14 degrees Fahrenheit.
