Good morning, weather watchers! I'm your meteorologist bringing you the chilly scoop for Carter Lake in Iowa.
Bundle up, folks, because winter is definitely making its presence known! We're looking at temperatures that'll make your teeth chatter. Overnight, expect a rock-solid steady temperature around 4 degrees Fahrenheit. Wind chill values will plummet to a bone-numbing negative 13 degrees. Those northwest winds are howling at 11 to 13 miles per hour, with gusts up to 20 miles per hour.
Sunday's forecast? Sunny but brutally cold. We're talking a high near 12 degrees Fahrenheit, with wind chill values dropping to a teeth-chattering negative 17 degrees. Northwest winds will be dancing between 6 to 11 miles per hour, with occasional gusts up to 20 miles per hour.
Martin Luther King Day continues the winter wonderland theme. Mostly sunny but cold, with a high around 10 degrees Fahrenheit. Wind chill values will hover around negative 12 degrees. Northwest winds will be strutting their stuff between 6 to 14 miles per hour.
As we move into Tuesday, we'll see a slight warm-up with temperatures climbing to a balmy 20 degrees Fahrenheit. By Wednesday, we might even hit 39 degrees - practically a heat wave for this time of year!
A slight chance of snow is possible on Thursday, just to keep things interesting.
