Hey weather watchers! This is your chilly winter weather report coming straight from Carter Lake, Iowa.

Winter is throwing everything it's got at us this week, folks. We're looking at some seriously cold conditions that'll make you want to bundle up like a human burrito.

Tonight, expect snow likely after 5 am, with temperatures steadily hovering around 5 degrees Fahrenheit. It's going to be calm and cloudy, with a chance of precipitation at 70 percent. We might see less than half an inch of snow accumulation.

Washington's Birthday is going to be a cold one! Expect snow mainly before noon, with a high near 6 degrees Fahrenheit. Wind chill values could drop as low as 12 degrees below zero. The north wind will be blowing between 5 to 9 miles per hour, and we're anticipating 1 to 3 inches of new snow.

Looking ahead, temperatures will continue to plummet. Monday night could see wind chills as low as 25 degrees below zero, and Tuesday won't be much warmer with potential wind chills reaching 24 degrees below zero.

The good news? By Friday, we'll start to see a slight warm-up, with temperatures climbing to a balmy 16 degrees Fahrenheit. And by Sunday, we might even hit 41 degrees Fahrenheit - practically a heatwave by this week's standards!

Pro tip: Layer up, check on your neighbors, and don't forget to protect those exposed pipes and vulnerable pets.
