Good morning, weather watchers! Get ready for a chilly but gradually clearing forecast here in Carter Lake, Iowa.

Tonight, we're looking at a mostly cloudy sky with temperatures dipping down to a crisp 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Expect a gentle northwest wind blowing at 5 to 7 miles per hour, so keep that light jacket handy.

Moving into Monday, we'll see some cloud action through mid morning, but don't worry - things will clear up nicely. We're expecting a high near 46 degrees Fahrenheit with a light northwest breeze at 3 to 6 miles per hour. Perfect day for a brisk walk!

Monday night brings mostly clear skies and temperatures dropping to around 26 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds will be calm, so bundle up if you're heading out.

Tuesday morning might greet us with some patchy fog between 8 and 10 in the morning, but it'll burn off quickly. We're looking at a mostly sunny day with temperatures reaching near 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

As we roll into Christmas, expect partly sunny skies with a high near 42 degrees Fahrenheit. A light southeast wind will add a touch of seasonal charm.

The latter part of the week brings increasing chances of rain, particularly Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will hover in the upper 40s to low 50s Fahrenheit.

Looking ahead to the weekend, we're anticipating partly sunny conditions with temperatures climbing to around 51 degrees Fahrenheit.
