Omniscience: Knowing Every Heart | The Essence of God
"You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar." – Psalm 139:1-2
God knows everything. Absolutely everything. Psalm 139, one of the most intimate and poetic passages in the Bible, reveals His omniscience. He knows not just the grand events of history but every detail of our hearts, thoughts, and lives.
God's omniscience means you can never be unseen, misunderstood, or forgotten. He knows when you're hurting, when you're joyful, and when you're overwhelmed. He understands your prayers, even the ones you can't find words for.
This knowledge can bring comfort but also challenge us to live authentically. Knowing that God is aware of even our hidden struggles liberates us to be honest with Him. There is no pretense with God—He invites us to come as we are, trusting fully in His intimate care.
