The Shock Absorber

On a Saturday night...

Listen Later

Joel and Stu are back in the Shock Absorber saddle, and continuing the Season 2 church planting story of Soul Revival. In this episode, they go over why Saturday night was chosen for the first gathering. There's also a run through of how the gathering actually ended up operating.

The decision to plant Soul Revival Church's first gathering on Saturday night was borne from the lessons from the 20 years of youth ministry at Gymea Anglican Church. Just as in youth ministry, the choice acted as a counter-culture to the individualism, consumerism and transience had emerged due to the Homogeneous Unit Principle's ideas of segmenting church by demographics. Stu and Joel then take a tour through what a Saturday night looked like and how it operated.
