Each spring I'm filled with an optimism that my beloved baseball team, the Baltimore Orioles, who haven't won a World Series in 41 years, will have a successful season. And most years, by about mid-May, my hopes are dashed as division rivals like the Yankees and Red Sox and Rays take over. Screw the Vegas oddsmakers: this year will prove markedly different. The Orioles may well be, alas, World Series bound.
