Having taken some time this summer to reflect and process my journey so far, it feels like I am moving into a new phase of Becoming the Change, which feels both the most aligned, coherent and easeful direction, and it also feels uncertain, vulnerable and scary. I recorded this video to share more about the direction it’s moving in which is to become more of a space where people with the same values and intentions, come together to practice the ways of being we believe will support us, humanity and the living world through this transitional time.
It’s about creating the conditions, the environments and the spaces where we can practice being our true selves.
Perhaps I could summarise the shift as rather than Becoming the Change being centred around ‘this was my struggle, I found all these ways to feel better and find aligned purpose, so let me help you on your journey’. It’s about sharing where I’m at now, the ways of being I am practicing, the way of living I am intentionally creating - and then inviting in others on a similar page, to walk together. Alongside one another. No leader. No coach. No change promised. Just human beings, being human. With a shared desire for creating the world we want to see from inside out. Through coming back to our true selves.
A quote that I think summarises the shift in my thinking is ‘the best learning comes from modelled demonstration’ - meaning we learn best through witnessing others living and embodying what we want to be. So if those of us with a similar desire to - come back to wholeness, to be our authentic selves, to live in alignment, to become the change we want to see - come together, then this is the best way we can all learn, grow and be inspired. And I also believe something even more magical can happen when we aren’t learning in the traditional way, from a teacher of some sort, but when we come together as equals, as peers, as friends, as travellers on this journey back to wholeness.
Over the last few years, some of the most transformative, comforting, insightful, validating, inspiring times have been with friends and peers on this journey, where we have just shared our truth and our experience and opened up about our journey, our callings, our struggles, our fears, our ‘failures’, our wins and our insights. I’ve been wondering for a while - what would happen if we intentionally create conditions where this is more of the norm. Where people on a similar inner journey, with a similar outer awareness, come together to just be.
As an invitation to step into practicing a way of being and living from similar values.
These ways of being are what I shared in my last post and podcast episode - the guiding principles and the values of Becoming the Change. Which are about remembering we are enough, finding courage and speaking our truth, acting from the heart, tapping into our childlike playful nature, following our intuition, being our authentic selves without the stories and conditioning. It’s about living in the present moment, being deeply connected to ourselves, others and nature, acting with love, kindness and compassion, letting our lights shine and embracing our shadows too, allowing ourselves to live more like a living system, acting with integrity, honesty and humility, allowing ourselves to be messy, being open-hearted and listening to our bodies wisdom.
What would happen if we came together as people with these similar intentions - who are all practicing more regenerative ways of being and seeing the world, a more conscious way of relating to ourselves, others and nature, a more interconnected sense of being part of the whole, a deeper connection to our souls calling and more heart-centred ways of being. Where we come together embracing our uniqueness, feeling through this messy middle part of inner change as we navigate the turbulent transition in the outer world. Where people who resonate with this knowing already, who are aligned with the intentions of these ways of being, who want to integrate them into the way that they live and serve the world and who want to connect with others acting in this way - gather together to just be.
If these inner qualities are ones that you are aware of and already practicing and nurturing, and, like me, you can find it challenging to live and embody them. I would like Becoming the Change to evolve into places where we can be together to practice these ways of being, to co-create heart-led spaces where we are welcomed in the fullness of our expression, where we practice embodying our values, where we act in reciprocity and where we co-create and see what emerges in real time.
In doing so, I believe we will inspire and energise each other. We can support each other in our journeys. We can find collaborators, friends, partners who can be part of our journey. We can normalise these ways of being and thinking so it’s easier to integrate into our lives and we can discharge the challenges, the fears, the doubts, the insecurities that come with this inner transformation. And in doing that, I think that our belief in ourselves will grow, our capacity will expand, our ability to live in alignment will strengthen and our trust that a more thriving future is emerging will grow.
So, the idea is to bring together people who are on the same page to practice and co-develop this idea and create these spaces. My desire is to create in-person events and experiences, in nature, in the UK - it could be a walk, co-creation days, nature based days, retreat style weekends, practitioner led or creative sessions, where there is space to be and time for deeper connection with one another.
This idea feels like a little seedling which has developed some strong roots, and needs a bit of water and sunlight to support it to grow. I’m looking for people who can shine light on the idea and help it grow and/or who want to be part of it and help co-create it. So if you are on the same page and would be interested in supporting me to develop it, please reach out, I’d love to speak to you and hear about your journey, what’s speaking to you about this and what kind of spaces you would value.
P.S. This is the start of me exploring how to articulate this idea and bring it to life, so this meme resonated with me, though if I’m honest I much prefer the little horse to the shiny one… either way, I’m embracing the journey and the process as it’s all part of the becoming. I’m also sharing more of the journey now on instagram and will continue with the podcast here on substack.
P.P.S if you’ve been waiting until you’re ready to launch something - just remember:
