As part of ongoing North Bay Fire coverage, Cat Brooks and Brian Edwards Tiekert hear from Omar Medina, Treasurer of the North Bay Organizing Project, also co-founder of the Undocu-Fund [1], set up to help undocumented families impacted by the fires. As uncertainty surrounding the consequences of the fires continues, questions about documentation and immigration status leave certain populations particularly vulnerable. In other local news, San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors votes today on a measure that would ban the use of delivery robots on public sidewalks. KPFA’s Tom Herriman spoke with a UC Berkeley based start-up company about these robots; robots which ask us to revisit ongoing concerns about safety, public-space and private usage. Finally, Carl Anthony speaks with UpFront about his book The Earth, the City, and the Hidden Narrative of Race. An architect, planner, and founder of one of the country’s oldest environmental organizations, Urban Habitat, Anthony has a book [2] launch [3] tomorrow (Wednesday) at 6:PM at Impact Hub Oakland.
