 Today on the Brain Booster we are joined by an extraordinarily special guest Dr Ellen Langer Dr Langer has been one of the most influential people in the world of psychology over the past 40 years She was the first female tenured professor in psychology at Harvard Has written numerous books She has conducted so many incredible experiments, most notably the ‘counterclockwise’ experiment where she had older men go into a ‘pod’ that took them back to their younger selves. The results as we find out today were extraordinary She has been studying Mindfulness for the past 35 years and makes clear that mindfulness is NOT meditation Mindfulness is being aware of what is ACTUALLY happening as opposed to what we think is happening based on our auto pilot responses  Why we need to realise that we DON’T know How our assumptions keep constantly tricking us How research only gives us PROBABILITIES not absolutes The ‘counterclockwise’ study and the amazing possibilities that open up Is ageing a direct consequence of our beliefs surrounding what we believe SHOULD be happening?
