About Michael Whidden
After eight years as a corporate attorney in NYC, Michael Whidden, in 2010, redirected his career path and has now been in the wine trade for almost twelve years. In 2020, he helped create with five other wine professionals an online wine auction, Vines4Votes, which raised $50,000 for the ACLU of Texas and its voting rights initiatives. The auction arose from an unshakeable idea to somehow unlock the value of a few personal bottles of collectible wine to benefit the greater good. Within less than four months, that simple idea evolved into six partners, scores of generous donors, hundreds of supporters and over 100 participating bidders. Michael lives in Brooklyn, NY, with his wife and three children.
