When we read God’s word or listen to sermons I think it’s kind of built into us to read or listen as if it was written to me personally. What is God saying to me? What am I supposed to get out of this? How do I apply this to my life? That’s good, we need to do that. But we can miss a key component to God’s word which is that most of the Bible is God speaking to His people.
