Once the lead US negotiator with Iran under both the Obama and Biden White Houses, Malley was suspended from his government post in June of this year shortly before a blockbuster investigation revealed his close connections to an Iranian influence operation that penetrated the U.S. national security establishment.

In their conversation, Siegel and Mansour discuss Malley’s intellectual formation and his role in translating anti-Zionist ideology into a more “respectable” liberal idiom that has made it increasingly influential inside the American ruling class.
