WORLD FOOTPRINTS

On the Road to Freedom

Listen Later

In honor of Black History Month, World Footprints revisits the path of the civil rights movement.  Today we welcome special guests Charles E. Cobb, Jr., Scott Hartblay and Christine Bischoff as they share their independent journeys along the path of the civil rights movement.
Author and former civil rights activist Charles E. Cobb, Jr., offers a guided tour of the civil rights trail in his book On The Road To Freedom.  Cobb introduces us to the places of the movement and the personalities who made those places historically relevant. He will give us a glimpse into the marches, struggles, triumphs, sites and profiles of the individuals whose shoulders we now stand on.  Christine and Scott traveled the path of the civil rights movement on independent trails.  We will revisit history through their stories and experiences as they recount their independent journeys along the civil rights trail through Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana.  Collectively, we will walk through the pages of history and to reflect on the preservation of our history or its current state.
