Our OTT event concluded with solutions to rectify issues of low participation of Black people in the development of their communities as it relates to owning real estate and building generational wealth. The group identified five community deficits (Education, supportive services and resource sharing, community building, generational wealth creation, and health) but, ultimately identified one solution- mindset change. Then they identified one tool that would help with addressing the root issue while providing information to address each of the five the elements. They came up with an online portal that focuses on sharing educational wealth building resources. This project develops the portal, a Facebook Group for which there will be three administrators. The portal will provide weekly devotionals, inspirational videos to encourage goal setting and the belief that prosperity is not meant for a limited few but can be accessed by those who seek it, plan for it, and take actionable steps to attain it. The portal will also introduce its audience to wealth building tools, free and or low-cost assistance to achieving financial goals and keep a calendar of supportive and educational events. Face to face interactions will begin with a kick-off event, The Secret Viewing Party. The Secret Viewing Party is designed to debut the online portal and introduce the mind shift concept to 100 invited community members. Interactions will continue with monthly MOCHA with Marki and Nicole and quarterly meet-up events that will serve as accountability sessions, book discussions and networking opportunities.
