Jared and Scz don't believe that dance music is just about entertainment. They believe it's a tool for liberation, a lense for historical and cultural exploration, and a catalyst for community building. By teaching our youth how to be better deejays, they're teaching then how to be better humans.

The hardest step is often the first step and the more encouragement we can get at that pivotal moment the more likely we are to improve ourselves. It is in that first step that Dress for Success tries to intervene for the better.

This month's grant recipient, Saving Sunny, will use funds towards their Community Dog Resource Center, a program focusing on human rehabilitation to keep dogs out of shelters and with their families.

Penelope is the general music teacher at Semple Elementary, a title one school where 80% of the students are on free or reduced lunch. She will use the funds from the grant to buy percussion instruments for her classroom that will serve her 600 students.
