  • Acknowledge that new team members may have anxiety, fear, and excitement when they start at a new company. L&D professionals can boost their chances of success with a strong and welcoming experience. 
  • Don't overload new hires with too much information during orientation. Consider rolling out information over a defined period of time to make it more digestible and relevant. 
  • Onboarding is not a one-time event. Think about it as creating a first-year experience that builds engagement in stages as employees performs their jobs.
