What do you do when you encounter division?

Whether we’re simply observing it around us or facing it personally, division is unpleasant. More than just discomfort, it is also a challenge to know how to respond when division rears its ugly head. We all have default reactions to which we turn, and most of us would admit that our default responses are often unhelpful.
