Did Jesus think that He was gaining the church when He died upon the cross? Jesus did die to obtain “a people of his own possession” that is the church. If Jesus died to obtain the church, how does that change a person’s perspective of the church? Jesus promised that He would build the church (Matt 16:18). The apostle Paul described the structure of the church as God’s holy temple in whom His Spirit dwells. The apostle also described the leadership and the foundation of the God’s temple — the church. This lesson is the beginning of a series about how Jesus organized the church.
