In Psalm 32 David writes this psalm to describe the importance that confession plays in the life of a believer but also the importance it plays in the life of the community of believers. Remember that the Psalms were written as the hymn book of the Old Testament people and so clearly we see that confession was of great importance to the worshipping community from the very beginning. As we confess together we acknowledge our dependence on our merciful and forgiving God, we acknowledge that we are all sinful and that above all we share in the undeserved grace of God together as One.
