This season of Lent, leading us to Easter 2024, we'll be walking through a series called Wounded Words: Jesus Speaks from the Cross. The series highlights the seven last "words" (phrases) Jesus speaks while being crucified. Themes and quotes from the book Cross-Shattered Christ (by Stanley Hauerwas) will be sprinkled throughout. In this final episode for the series, just before Jesus breathes his last breath, he commits his spirit into the hands of the Father. We are reminded, one last time, that Jesus doesn't die because he is forced to, but because he chooses to... to give his life as a ransom for many.
