"I was thinking about the possibility of hope that we can all have in the back of our minds: Is this the one? What's going to happen next? So often this can play out like a grand story — our lives feel as dramatic as a piece of theater or a film. I wanted to tie those feelings together, and also highlight the different stages of connection and loneliness. Sometimes we're alone, sometimes we're not. But there's always another chance to find a plus one."
