One Seed-Many Seeds

Please turn… John 12:23-25
“Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. 24 Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. John 12:23-24
1: Everything in Jesus life and death lined up with the Father’s plans
“…they tried to seize Him, but no one laid a hand on
Him, because His hour had not yet come…” John 7:30
“…no one seized Him, because His hour
had not yet come.” John 8:20b
App: How are you with God’s plan/timeframe? (ref. V 24)
2: Jesus didn’t just come to die; He came as a seed
App: Everyone who trusts in Jesus is given the seed of new life
“This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:17b
“Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.” Romans 3:19
3: New Jesus invites us to die that we might live
“…unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. 25Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.” John 12:24-25
Question: The moment a seed goes into the ground and dies, how much control does it have over it’s future?
