Luke 10:38-42

There are many things in life that pull us in 100 directions and get us anxious and distracted. But Jesus is cutting through all that to give us the one thing we really need – himself—the one thing that fills us up even as the world empties our tanks with over-filled schedules and countless concerns. Listening to Jesus and his Word is the one thing needed to counteract all that. As we make that one thing needed our highest priority, we come to see that listening to the Word of Jesus is all about what we’re receiving. It’s not about more stuff we need to do or priorities we need to keep in order to have a fulfilled life. It’s about what’s been done for us to have fulfillment in the life and the work of our Savior.
