Irene Magiri is a mature student from Kenya, moving on from her first degree to a Master degree in International Relations at the University of Hertfordshire. Meeting her at church in the morning, Elspeth persuaded her to chat about the change from Kenyan to British ways of life, including the temperature, which Irene finds exceedingly cold, and the fact that in the winter, daylight hours may only last until 4.00pm here. Recently engaged to a Kenyan fellow, still in Kenya they have a lot of technical issues e.g. the marriage certificate, to work out.
