Today, Elspeth asks Sue to tell the story of how the Vineyard church has cared for local people in need, for many years. At first it was a case of queuing up for food parcels. Then the church thought it right to buy the neighbouring warehouse, and use this as a centre. So then, anyone could come in, receive drinks and snacks and chat until it was their time to go into the “shop” (no money needed) and also meet specialists brought in to help with debt, homelessness, and other needs. Today however, this Care Centre is going further and members of the church are mentoring them, helping them into confidence, and the knowledge that God cares for them.
