Ever asked a question of your teen … only to receive a one-word answer?  Or just a grunt?

It’s a common experience for moms and dads all across the country.  They try to strike up a conversation with their teen… only to be stonewalled.  That can be pretty discouraging, I know.

But let me offer some encouragement.  No matter how tight-lipped your teen seems to be right now, he still wants a relationship with you.  Deep down, what he or she most desires is a sense of significance and security in their relationship with mom and dad.

So don’t give up.  Don’t stop spending one-on-one time together every week.  Don’t stop asking those questions and waiting for the answer!  Your patience will pay off … sooner than you think!
