Zach Lubin [Chicago]

For our 92nd OFR, we welcome back DTH friend, Zach Lubin.

Bio:

Zach Lubin is from Chicago and has been DJing and producing electronic

music for over 25 years. His label, Obvio, is a resurrection of his

father's reggae label started in 1982. Obvio is an outlet for forward

thinking techno, always originating from a specific concept or theme

rather than catering to pure dance floor tracks. Zach has performed

across Europe and frequently in his home town of Chicago, carrying a

sound riding the blurred lines of Detroit techno and Chicago house.

Strongly influenced by the hip-hop and hands-on style of DJing, his

sets are known to be high energy and heavy with improvisation. He is a

strong proponent of art creation as a spontaneous and in-the-moment

process, rather than premeditated and planned. Zach has music released

on Kimochi Sound, Liebe:Detail, Nighttripper, UntilMyHeartStops, and

others including two full-length albums on Parity and Ante Recordings.

His music has seen support by the likes of Ben Sims, Kyle Hall, and

DVS1. He also has released on Jeff Mills' Axis side-label 6277, and

has been remixed by the likes of Paul Mac and Orlando Voorn.
