You know that old saying, “we all have a God-shaped hole”? What it means is, we all have needs and desires that only God can fill. God created us when we were in our mother's womb. He knows the desires of our heart, and only He can bring us true and lasting peace. But so often, we try to fill our “God-shaped hole” with other things – such as the approval of people, success in the workplace, or material wealth. We think, “Maybe if I have enough friends, or enough money, or a promotion at my job, I’ll be content. I’ll be at peace.” But peace never really comes. We become dependent on things or people that can’t truly bring us the happiness we long for.

So, how do we change this? Well, the only way to find real peace and real meaning is to let God fill our God-shaped hole. Nothing else will do it.The Bible says in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life”. God wants to be your everything. He wants to meet you where you are, and give you the peace you truly desire. Find a way to share that truth with all your world around you.This is Luis Palau.
