In 2 Kings and chapter 6 the scripture tells us that the people of that time experienced a day very much like our own. “The servant of the man of God arose early and went out, and he saw an army surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And the servant said to his master, ‘alas my master what shall we do?’ And so he answered, ‘do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them’. And Elisha prayed, and said, ‘Lord I pray open his eyes that he may see.’ Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man and he saw and behold the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”
Oh Lord Jesus Christ, would you open our eyes again to the reality of God and the realm of God? Would you deliver us from seeing only as fallen men see? Give us the eyes of victory that Christ won for us on the cross. Help us, help us, oh God, to pray.
